Schedules make the Day!

So Clayton is testing out this new schedule. First let me say that the fact that he changes his schedule every other week, not by a lot but enough to annoy me, is so frustrating. Just when I think ok this is our day he comes and moves it all around. I am really trying to set a schedule in stone to make the transition of Jason coming home a little easier for all of us. So, yesterday was just like the two days before so I thought we were headed in a good direction. he went to bed last night at 8:30 almost exactly was asleep by 8:45...so far so good. He usually wakes up around 6 for a bottle and lays there for a while and goes back to bed. At first I was trying to eliminate that but he was so unbearable by 9:30 I went back to the old plan. So now he goes back to sleep around 6:30 and waked for good around 8:15. Well this morning I was not woken up by his little chatter, I was woken by the garbage truck that comes at 9. So I thought ok well he is sleeping in...mind you he had nothing to eat or drink since 8:20 the night before. I got up, got a shower, drank some coffee...11:00 rolls around and he is still asleep! I force him awake and he cries and tries to go back to sleep. The day has been horrible. I am a scheduled person and the fact that we are off by 5 hours is driving me crazy! It is 2:30 and he hasn't has lunch....ps. he is taking another nap!

High Five

So last week Clayton was eating some very messy apple concoction and spilled it on the floor. I am not a morning person and this food spilling thing was not working for me so I might have gotten a little mad at him. At my anger he turned his lip under and started to cry. I felt so bad. I know he is just a baby and is learning and will make many more messes than apples on the floor. So as I went to give him a hug and apologize for yelling he put his hand up and said "are you giving me a high five?" He laughed and every since that day he gives EVERYONE high fives with a cute little grin. However, he is still learning to keep his food on his plate or at least his chair. Thanks to Army post housing we do not have room in the kitchen for a table and the dining room is carpeted. So I have decided to lay a Neat Sheet down under his area and just let go of my fears and let him learn...and imagine this, when I stopped getting made for him throwing food...he stopped throwing it! Oh babies!

So he might need a haircut

I decided a long time ago that Jason was going to give Clayton his first haircut and against all arguments from my friends here in TX, I am sticking by that decision. However, the hair is getting a little out of control. Example, tonight in the bath tub while washing Clayton's hair I thought I would give him a Mohawk and sure enough it was long enough!
Clayton has learned to give high fives! He is growing so dang fast, I love watching him grow but I miss my baby so much!
If you look really hard in the picture above you can see Clayton's top teeth. I know this is a bad angle but it was th only way he would show them. Well, Clayton is down for the night and I have a ton of TiVo to catch up on....more later

Goodbye but not hello

Clayton waving to Daddy (aka- the cell phone)
Since my last post Clayton has learned to wave. At first it was only to animals, weird I know! But now he is doing it for people too. The problem is that he only waves goodbye never hello and if I ask him to wave to someone he then wants to leave immediately. He has also been sleeping a ton! I'm thinking another growth spurt may be here really soon. I think I have finally figured out a good system for feeding him everything he needs in a day without over feeding him. He seems to be dong great and has actually cut himself off of bottle. So now he is drinking between 24 and 30 oz of formula a day. I felt like was not enough but the Dr. said take Clayton's cues, so that is what I will do.

We are slowly, needing to be quickly, preparing ourselves to become a family of 3 again. After 10 months it will be so nice to have Jason home again. I can't wait for him to see the day to day with Clayton and how much he grows and changes everyday! I'm so excited!

Shopping Day

So I will update while Clayton is napping, a marathon nap, I will add. He went down around 12 and it's 2 now. Usually his morning nap only last a an hour but I'm no complaining. However, lately he seems to also want to nap at 5 until about 7 and then party all night.
On a side note, living on a military post is possibly the noisiest place to live. Today alone I have had to adjust pictures thanks to gunnery or tank practice, I guess you could call it. And now all of my walls are rattling due to the helicopter fly overs. Clayton loves all the noise and the helicopters and planes but I find them annoying sometimes. Anyway, today is shopping day oh boy! I feel like Clayton doubles his eating every week. He eats SO much and that stuff is not cheap. I tried to make his food but it isn't working for us right now. With Jason being gone I find that cereal is a great source for dinner and that can not be pureed. If I ate actual meals I would blend what I ate ate problem solved but who wants to cook for one person, really? Maybe I will grab some Starbuck's while I'm out...I can treat myself! Clayton is getting big enough to take to the park! And he loves it!

It's been a while I know. After or great trip back home for Christmas, Clayton and are settling back into our routine, I think!?! There has not been to much to add except that Clayton not has 3 teeth, is 9 months old, and pulls up on everything! He is fast approaching the walking stage and I am getting a little scared. Both of us recently came down with the crazy 48 hour stomach flu and recovered just today with the last bit , I think. I know I need to update on here more often but it seems that although this month is SO slow, time as escaped me. But I have written down in my calendar to update at least once a week and hopefully I will stick to that. Tomorrow morning we have a playdate so it is off to bed for now but I will be back to update more as more happens. Ps- things are looking good for J being home really soon....like weeks not months! Pray thats all we can do now :)

Christmas delay

Well I should be typing this from Georgia but due to the CRAZY fog here yesterday I am typing from Ft. Hood. We went to the airport twice trying to get out but they kept canceling and finally around 6:00 pm they decided that no more flights were leaving so....they rescheduled my flight for Monday which set me back a few days but everything seems to be working out ok in the end. Since I was supposed to talk Clayton for his first Santa picture in the Lawrenceville square today and did not make it I took him to the mall here. The picture turned out really cute! Clayton was trying to pull his beard and pull his glasses off!

Clayton is doing really well. He had the flu all week which did not add to the frustration of the trip cancellation but he is all better now and back to speed crawling all over the house. He follows me and when I am moving to fast he stops and crys this pitiful cry as if I have broken his heart. I'm afraid that mommy is missing phase is kicking in. He seems to be ok as long as he can see me but when I am out of sight there are some major tears!
