MilSpouse Friday Fill-in...#31

To play along the questions are posted here!

  1. Aside from no deployments, what is one thing you would want to make the MilSpouse life “perfect”? I would love the ability to take my friends with me when I leave.
  2. Just how many peppers did Peter Piper pick? I think on a good day and with no help maybe 45?
  3. If you could have any career in the world with nothing holding you back, what would you do? A childhood developmental therapist (I may have made that up by the way!) But the point is I am really into development of kiddos especially infants.
  4. Do you have a service oriented tattoo and if so what is it. If you don’t what would you get? I do not have one and to be honest I'm not sure I would get one. I'm to into tattoos on myself!
  5. Imagine a block of time has opened up in your busy day for you to take a class in anything you like. What subject would you choose?  Sewing...I want to learn so bad!

White -Project 52-Week 8

I found these pictures and this post in my list of post that has not been published. They were taken in January when Fort Irwin had some freak snow so I thought I would use them to show white here in the desert!

28/29 Charlotte update

How far along?
28/29 weeks

Maternity clothes?
yes. I actually wore a pair of non maternity jeans that are a few sizes bigger than my regular pants and while they were a little big it was nice to wear real pants. Shirts are half and half.

Stretch marks?
none

Weight gained:
total- 22lbs according to my scale and 25 lbs according to the dr scale. I wear a towel at home...fully dressed at the Dr so I am sticking with my at home weight!

Sleep:
Pretty good. I have found a good position that doesn't bother my hip. I am starting the pee a couple times a night thing though...ugg

Best moment this/last week:
Finding out I am having a baby shower. While I don't really need anything for the baby, except all things pink (!) it is so sweet that my friends are coming together to welcome this precious little girl into the world :)

Movement:
She is a moving machine!

Food cravings:
Sweets, oatmeal, and recent Apple Cider..weird!

Gender:
Girl-Charlotte Grace

Labor Signs:
Non, some Braxton hicks but nothing too serious

Belly Button in or out?
on its way out

Wedding rings on or off?
off...they are causing a rash like they did with Clayton

What I miss:
Honestly a nice glass of wine

What I am looking forward to:
Having my body back and meeting my little girl

Weekly Wisdom:
Drink lots of water!

Milestones:
The crib is here and we cleaning out and organizing her room a little bit everyday...until then our house is a mess!!!

Dr said: Everything looked great and that I was right on track. She did say that I was gaining weight a little faster than she liked :( I passed the glucose test and had yet another 2 vials of blood drawn to check antibodies for my Rhogam shot. Which I got and it hurt like crazy!! But its just another small discomfort for the greater good of the baby right? We have ball (I think I have mentioned this) when i am 36 weeks and it is 3 hours away so I asked the Dr what her thoughts were and she said as of right now I am good to go but to take the car seat just in case! As we get closer she will re-look at things and give a better opinion. I'm not really sure what I want her to say :)

MilSpouse Friday Fill-in...my first!

  1.  What is your favorite MilSpouse blog (not including Wife of a Sailor who we all love, or your own)? I love Cupcake and Combat Boots. She is a dear friend of mine and I love hearing of her adventures in the kitchen, around the newest town the Army has sent her and sweet dog Libby!
  2. What are your favorite perks about your s/o being deployed (we all know there are perks)? Eating cereal for dinner and being able to watch whatever I want on TV without hear how lame it is that I watch teen shows on MTV!
  3. How long did you date your before getting engaged? Married? My husband and I dated for about 9 months before we got engaged and got married 1 year and 8 days after we got engaged and will celebrate our 4th anniversary in May.
  4. What do you think your  s/o would do if s/he wasn’t in the military? We have talked about this several times and my husband would be police officer or something in law enforcement if he wasn't a soldier.
  5. If you could talk to the Secretary of (fill in your appropriate branch) what is one suggestion you would like to bring to their attention in order to improve the lives of military families? If I could talk to the Secretary of the Army I would really like to ask him to help improve the commissary on some of the smaller post, like Ft Irwin, CA. We are 31 miles from the highway that leads another 15 miles to the next store and we are always running out of staple items here without many choices as to where to go next!

Christmas Dinner

Since my mom was here in CA this year with us it was up to us to deliver the "Christmas Day Dinner". As far back as I can remember I always had dinner on Christmas Day with my dads family and only once since then have I missed it and that was because we switched up and did Jason's family for Christmas.

For whatever reason Blogger is rearranging my pictures here but here is the turkey that Jason cooked in his new turkey fryer that my mom got him before it was buttered and wrapped. This picture was taken the night before the dinner.
Yummy turkey the day of the dinner (Christmas Day)

A little bit of our "spread"

The infamous pink stuff...I think only like 5 people in my whole family eat it but my Grandmother makes 2 big dishes every year because I can eat one by myself. So duh I had to make it!!

I would say dinner was a success and we had TONS left over!!!
