Our Life is A Circus

As I blogged earlier we stopped in Vegas for a 1.5 days to spend some family time before the big GA trip.

We stayed at Circus Circus and it turned out to be a great place to stay with  a 2yr old. We watched a free circus act

and rode a few rides

and won Clayton a bubble wand...anyone who knows him well knows that the bubbles will be the highlight of the trip.

The room was pretty nice for the price

but the view from the 28th floor wasn't great. We couldn't see any of the strip but that's ok.

  

This was right out side of our window. This was the Adventure Dome which held the Arcade and the rides.

Daytime view from out room ...I love the desert mountains and are reminded of Gods work everyday by looking out our windows!

Clayton loved the all day buffet!

"Pump Bob" square pants...we rode a 4D ride/show and Clayton loved it. He wouldn't keep the glasses on so I'm sure to him it was just a blurry movie.

A little stop on the way home...home being GA

Clayton and I are taking a month long trip to GA starting this Sunday...Father's Day. I'm trying not to think about being away from Jason for a whole month. I wish he could go with us but someone has to make some money right?

Since we are leaving on Father's Day out of Las Vegas we decided to go early and spend some much needed family time before the big trip.

As soon as the hubs gets home we are on our way to the city that never sleeps...with a 2 year old!

Hopefully I will be able to update regularly on our hometown adventures!

Jason's Change of Command

I have already written a blog about Jason's change of command but I finally got some pictures to add of the actual ceremony.

The squadron commander in ACUs...Jason on the left of him and the outgoing commander (Cpt Eby) on the left

Outging CO takes the guidon from the 1st Sgt and gives it to the SCO (squadron commander)

The SCO then hands it to the incoming CO

The incoming gives it back to the 1st Sgt...and the COC is complete

As the COs turn to face the audience the incoming stands on the left side of the SCO signifying that he is now the Troop/Company commander

So far this command has been really fun....so different than a typical first command but Jason is loving it and that makes life in general more fun. It always helps when your husband likes his job.

This past weekend the Horse Det was asked to participate in a rodeo and Jason has talked about it non-stop since he got home! I love his enthusiasm and want to learn more and more.

All along I thought when he retired he would join into law enforcement but now I see some horse training/rodeos/stables in our future!

Nap nap I won't take so mommy decided to bake bake bake

That title took a good day to come up with...and here is why...Clayton is on a NAP STRIKE, Umm creating massive detruction of my very planned out day

Here are the reasons why I believe he is not napping:

1...Dad has been gone since Thursday morning

2...we cleaned out his closet and it's like Christmas all over again

And then people ask "can't you just lay him down and make him nap"...NO..and the reasons are

1. He is now in a toddler bed and will escape

2. Once he escapes he plays 

3.I can't concentrate on what I would be doing during his nap if I can hear him playing and moving about

So while the strike has been happening I decided to take the chance to reinforce his cooking skills and using his help to revamp (spelling?) his diet....a whole post on that coming

Yesterday Jesus called one of his tiny babies home. Please keep my dear dear friend from high school and college, Rachael Copponex (Miller) and her family in your prayers and thoughts please. Their baby boy, 2 months old, passed away yesterday very unexpectedly and this is such a hard situation to wrap my head around. There is a reason for everything in the lord and I know that he is with this family.
