38/39 week Charlotte Update
The picture on the left is me the night my water broke with Clayton...his due date April 11. The picture on the right was taken today at 39 weeks 1 day...Do you think I'm ready?
How far along?
38/39 weeks
Maternity clothes?
yes! and some of Jason's clothes too! Yoga pants are my new BFF : )
Stretch marks?
one little line popped up this week....not happy
Weight gained:
total- 40ish lbs which is a pretty big jump but the Dr told me that is is mostly water weight and will go down once she is born and the heat subsides a little...great! I'm glad to know that some of it is water but either way I don't like it and I feel so gross!!!
Sleep:
Best moment this/last week:
Finding out an induction date (May 3). I am a planner and to know the "end" date is super helpful in my anxiety.
Movement:
She is a moving machine! And those tiny feet may be cute when she gets here but right now they hurt!!
Food cravings:
Sweets and bread...good for weight gain right!
Gender:
Girl-Charlotte Grace
Labor Signs:
Cramping and I feel her much low, a few contractions and some other kinda personal signs!
Belly Button in or out?
out
Wedding rings on or off?
back off and the rash is worse than ever! Plus the swelling isn't helping :(
What I miss:
sleeping and my clothes
What I am looking forward to:
Having my body back and meeting my little girl
Weekly Wisdom:
Drink lots of water!
Milestones:
Making it until my mom got here...now I am ready!
38 weeks checkup:
Everything looked god vitals wise...BP was good and her HB was in the 140s which is lower than it has been but still in the OK zone. Clayton's slowed down A LOT at this stage so I wasn't super surprised. She asked me if I wanted my membranes stripped and I said no because I was going to be home alone all day while Jason and Clayton went to Vegas to get my mom. I guess that meant all or nothing to her because she didn't check me either so I have no idea what the progress is if there was any. My Dr will be out of town this whole week and will come back on my due date so I'm actually trying to hold off until she gets back.
I go back on the 2nd which is my due date and she is going to check me then. If I am 3 cm or less than I will check in the hospital and have a Foley bulb inserted and then see where we are in the morning whether pitocin will be needed...fingers crossed that I won't need it! If I am 4 cm or more on Monday than I come back in Tuesday and start the induction then with just pitocin. Either way she should be here no later than the night of the 3rd!

MilSpouse Friday Fill-in...#38
- How many pets do you have? And what type? We have NO pets and it will be that way for awhile!
- What are your favorite projects to do while hubby is away? Scrapbooking and card making. I also love to make something that represents out time apart.
- What are the must-haves in your deployment care packages? Gum and snacks they can't get at home. Letters, photos and cute crafts from the kids.
- If you could star in any TV show, which would it be? I would love to be on that new show Pregnant in Heels but I will not be pregnant in a few days so I guess it would be pointless :)
- What was the biggest hurdle that you faced during your/your significant other’s first deployment? We had a newborn...like he was 2 weeks old when my hubby left and that was REALLY hard but at the same time the biggest blessing I could have asked for!

1...2...3 strikes your out
Clayton got this T-ball set for Christmas and has really enjoyed playing with it lately. It is so funny to me to watch him hit because he is left handed and I'm am SO right handed!! I can't correct his form at all (not that I would know what I am correcting) but he is having fun so I guess we can just let his coach next year fix that for us :)
I love the concentration and the tongue out in this next one!
And I just realized that he is wearing baseball pjs...that was not intentional!

36/37 week Charlotte Update
This was right before the ball. 36 weeks preggo...and partied all night long!
How far along?36/37 weeks
Maternity clothes?
yes! and some of Jason's clothes too!
Stretch marks?
one little line popped up this week....not happy

total- 40ish lbs which is a pretty big jump but the Dr told me that is is mostly water weight and will go down once she is born and the heat subsides a little...great! I'm glad to know that some of it is water but either way I don't like it and I feel so gross!!!
Sleep:
Horrible! Restless leg syndrome is in full force and there is really nothing I can find that will help. So I spend most of the night moving around. Dr suggested no more naps and no more caffeine...led to headaches so I went back to caffeine and no naps and seems to be helping me fall asleep.
Best moment this/last week:
Finding out an induction date. I am a planner and to know the "end" date is super helpful in my anxiety.

Food cravings:
Sweets and bread...good for weight gain right!
Gender:
Girl-Charlotte Grace
Labor Signs:
Cramping and I feel her much lower but no contractions or fluid or anything really concerning. I measured 1 cm at my 37 week check up.
Belly Button in or out?
out
Wedding rings on or off?
back off and the rash is worse than ever! Plus the swelling isn't helping :(
What I miss:
sleeping
What I am looking forward to:
Having my body back and meeting my little girl
Weekly Wisdom:
Drink lots of water!
Milestones:
Baby girl is officially full term!
36 week check up:
I started going to the doctor every week now and that makes D-day seem even more real! Even the front desk clerk was excited for me and said it seems like I have been pregnant forever. Maybe it was because I found out so early and had some complications really early and therefore going a little more often than the average. They did the Group B strep test and we will find out if I have to have antibiotics during delivery to protect the baby. She also of course checked the heart beat which was normal, in the 150s. She said that as of right now the baby is head down but faced "sunny side up" which is not going to be fun to deliver but Clayton was in the same position and obviously we all survived! Then we talked about whether it was safe for me to travel to Anaheim for the Regimental ball this weekend and she decided to check me...always scary for me. NOTHING!!!! But I know things can change rapidly with babies. I was .5 cm with Clayton for 2 weeks and then my water broke and remained at 1 cm for 13 hours with pitocin....there is no controlling or guessing with this! So that is where I am...0cm, 0% effaced but she has dropped a little. Off to Disneyland sans Clayton (post on that later) with car seat installed and hospital bag packed, just in case!!
37 weeks 5 days. Right before Clayton's birthday party :)

Best moment this/last week:
Honestly, this week has been rough. I have been an emotional disaster and I am at the "done" stage and still have 4 weeks left to go :(

I put them back on and the rash seems to be staying away unless I swell at night and then I have to take them off to sleep
What I miss:
sleeping
What I am looking forward to:
Having my body back and meeting my little girl
Weekly Wisdom:
Drink lots of water!
Milestones:
Since I write these at the end of every two weeks I am actually 36 weeks tomorrow so I am with in the month of d-day!!!
No Dr. appointments this week but I do have one this Thursday and then I start every week. I am hoping that this one coming up is just as easy as the others have been...I am pretty swollen and a little concerned about it since pre-eclampsia runs in my family but I am hoping it is just this crazy desert climate!
