February 3rd was Jason's grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary! Personally I find this amazing. So we made a huge effort to celebrate with them and show how proud we are of this accomplishment and surprised them by flying in for their surprise party.
This also meant we had to lie and ask others to lie also to keep the surprise but it all came together and turned out perfect! We flew in a few days before (prices and vacation just worked out that way) and had some time to see other family for a little bit before hand...and get my hair cut!
Friday night (2/3) Darlene (my MIL) had asked to take them to dinner and made it seem casual and low key but she had really gone to great lengths to have a surprise party with some of their close friends and family.
Funny side story, we thought it would be odd to them if we didn't call and wish them well on their special day so called on the way to the party. We had been telling them that we were gong on vacation to Disneyland! So when we called they asked how our trip was going and to avoid the crazy web we were spinning we just cut them short and said we were pulling into the park and had to go, that we would call them later! Haha...do you think God will forgive our lies?
Waiting on the party to start...the flash was really bright!
We got the restaurant all set up and waited for them to arrive. We placed Jason, Clayton and I in the farthest corner so we would be seen last to be seen but Charlotte was sitting in Alecia's lap (my SIL) and when Mr. Tommy and Ms. Sara came in they were surprised on so many levels, but not by Charlotte!?!

They were obviously surprised that all the people, a huge cake and presents were there. I'm pretty sure at some point I heard Mr. Tommy ask Alecia who's baby that was and when she said Charlotte he looked confused but it didn't really click I guess. Ms. Sara turned and saw Jason...enter tears and squeals of excitement!! LOVE IT!!
From then on we talked and ate Japanese hibachi...yummy!) and celebrated am inspirational love!
I'm not really sure what is going on here...singing maybe?

Happy anniversary Ms. Sara and Mr. Tommy! I think we can all say your love and endurance through a life in the Army has been an inspiration to us all but especially for Jason and I. I hope one day the Cs kids are writing a blog about Jason and I giving them the same type of marriage to look up to!
